Race 2: Twin Buttes Reservoir
This race will be held on January 31, 2026 at 8AM.
The second race of the Trail Series starts at the Twin Buttes Reservoir Recreation Area Boat Ramp. This area, just southwest of San Angelo, is home to over 20 miles of trails and several of the SARL trail races, including the Dinosaur Run.
Parking: There is ample parking for this race, mostly from the several lots near the start/finish.
How do I get there?

Directions: From Sherwood Way, head west past Sam's through where Sherwood becomes U.S. Highway 67. Continue west past Sam's for about three miles and turn left at the gas station on the left. Go over the railroad crossings and continue straight until you see us.
What does the course look like?
This course is on the west side of San Angelo, and is mostly flat except for occasional quick climbs. It is has many twists and turns to keep you entertained.
The course image and links are very close to the actual race course, but changes are possible due to rain, trees, etc. Be sure to be watching for signs and caution tape.
